BY A STUDENT FROM TAYLOR'S UNIVERSITY
REFLECTION - SEMESTER 1
How was this semester?
Overall, this semester was a good introduction to the field of architecture and how to start designing like an architect. The lectures had ample information to help us begin our work, and our lecturers were communicative and responsive to any feedback or questions from students. They also highlighted any mistakes we made and what solutions we could use to those problems.
This semester was conducted mostly online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and despite that issue we made good use of online tools such as the university TIMeS portal, Microsoft Teams, Facebook and other applications. TIMes was incredibly useful as it was where all our assignments, briefs and lecture material could be accessed. The remaining communication channels (Teams, Facebook, etc.) helped us massively to remain informed on assignment deadlines, any changes to ongoing projects, and to gain feedback from our lecturers. The modules were coordinated properly - every project commencing and concluding on time, a sufficient amount of classes were conducted to keep us knowledgable on each subject and any changes were communicated and easily accessible in channels such as Facebook and Telegram.
I am pleased with how the semester was conducted and hope that the rest of the course continues in this manner.
